What is active rehab under ICBC?
Active rehab is a structured, exercise-based rehabilitation program covered under ICBC’s Part 7 accident benefits, which provide medical and rehabilitation support for individuals injured in a motor vehicle accident (MVA). Under this policy, ICBC funds active rehab sessions with a BCAK-registered kinesiologist to help you regain mobility, reduce pain, and prevent long-term disability.
How ICBC's Part 7 Benefits Cover Active Rehab
• If you’ve been injured in an MVA, ICBC automatically pre-approves 12 active rehab sessions within the first 30 days after your accident.
• If additional treatment is needed, your kinesiologist can request extended coverage through ICBC.
• Active rehab is fully or partially covered, depending on your claim, with no upfront payment required in most cases.
